Known as the "Queen of Fruits". The mangosteen tree (Garcinia mangostana) is native to the tropical climates of Southeast Asia. In Thailand and throughout Indonesia, the mangosteen fruit has long been respected and revered for its medicinal properties and has been used for thousands of years. Buddhist monks have been great consumers of this fruit for centuries, as they consider it a magical fruit. It has the ability to take from the earth the nutrients that are vital to the human being. Our mangosteen powder is made, not from the white flesh of the mangosteen, but from its purple rind (known as the pericarp), which contains most of its nutrients and its more than forty xanthones. Xanthones are natural plant chemicals that demonstrate a list of exceptional properties for good health. Although Xanthones are also found in some other tropical fruits, there are no other plants that contain more than the mangosteen.
